GLOBAL ENTRY

"GLOBAL ENTRY.....WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?"

This is what it says on the marketing pieces for the GLOBAL ENTRY program.

The GLOBAL ENTRY is a program for people who travel outside of the UNITED STATES, that expedites coming back into the USA.

The CHEERLEADER and I recently applied for this.  It wasn't because we are WORLD TRAVELERS...yet (we've been to Mexico a couple of time and are going back later this year)...but we got it, because we SEE ourselves doing more international travel.

In the Bible, Habakkuk 2:2 says, "Then the LORD answered and said: Write the vision and make it plain on tablet, the he may run who reads it...."

We have a VISION to travel to other countries...to experience new and different cultures. We also would like to go and do missions/ministry work, on short term basis, in other countries as well.

Going through all of these "hoops" it started me thinking about that tag line, "What are you waiting for?"

I realize that it is a play on that phrase as this service will speed up the customs process when entering back into the USA....but also the idea that this is such a great idea, why wait!

But it made me think about the "missional" aspect of the WHY behind her and I getting this: Where I am at today, isn't this a part of the GLOBE?  YES!  Am I just looking beyond to some other place when there are people here, in Omaha...in Nebraska....in these United States, that could use the HOPE we have to offer?  YES!

Jesus told His disciples in Acts 1:8, "....And you will be My witnesses, telling people about Me everywhere - in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Notice, before they would get to the "...ends of the earth," they had to go through their home town and then reach out to their state, region and beyond.

Missionary C.T. Studd (1860-1931) was known to have said, "The light that shines the farthest shines brightest nearest home."

So, have your GLOBAL vision....but do not miss out on all the good you can do for those "...nearest home!"
