CASTLES - DRAW BRIDGES - & GARAGE DOOR OPENERS

QUESTION OF THE DAY:  
Do you know the names of your neighbors on either side of your house?

If you live in the country, do you know the names of your closest to your house neighbors?

If you live on a private island and you have no neighbors...where's my invite to come visit?

I was talking with a group of guys the other day and we were discussing the idea that most of our culture has become very isolated.  

By that I mean, we get into our cars in the garage; we hit the garage door opener; we drive away to work; after work, we drive home; hit the garage door opener; drive into the garage and close the door.

Has the garage door opener become the "draw bridge" of our modern day "castle?"

I have written and you have read that to have your BEST YEAR YET (remember, that is what this blog is all about), you can't do it alone!

BEST YEAR YETs were not meant to be a SOLO journey.

I might be stepping on some toes, but what can we do to change the SOLO mentality?

Here are a couple of ideas:

• GET OUT
• How about just getting out of your house and being visible in your neighborhood
• Go for walks in your neighborhood and say "hi" to people
• Sit on your porch and talk to those that walk by you
• Get a group together and pull up some chairs in your drive way
• WELCOME YOUR NEIGHBORS INTO YOUR HOUSE
• Watch a game together
• Have a meal together

I realize that this could be uncomfortable....possibly even scary.  But you were designed for relationships.  You were not designed to do LIFE alone.

So, escape your castle and GET OUT to where the people are!
