E IS FOR...

EXPENSES!

Did you know that when a child is treated at ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL, the family doesn't have to pay for treatment, housing, food, and travel?

WHY?

Because all a family should be focused on is helping the child live.

That was Danny Thomas's vision when the door opened in 1962, and now, 56 years later, it is still the case.

I don't know how old the child was the did our letter E today, but evidently old enough to have a base understanding of money and the cost associated with his treatment.

Notice what he said, "We don't have to pay EXPENSES at St. Jude, SO I CAN...

• FIGHT NEUROBLASTOMA
• and BE #CARSONSTRONG"

The CHEERLEADER and I have friends who knew this first hand at St. Jude.

They are so grateful for not only the world class treatment their child got, but also that they never saw a bill.  

In 2015 when I was training for the New York City Marathon AND raising money and awareness for St. Jude, our friends shared an EOB (explanation of benefits) that they received from a recent (at the time) check up visit their child had to go through back at St. Jude.

Not including the travel, housing and food for that trip, just the medical check up portion of the trip was over $10,000.  

They never saw a bill.

E is for EXPENSES.....that the families don't have to endure.
