C IS FOR...

Mile 3...Letter C.

C IS FOR...

  • Cancer Education
  • Hair is gone?!
  • IV to get the medicine in
  • Learned about blasts
  • Doll to help understand
  • Love what they do!
  • Instruments to play!
  • Fun arts and crafts!
  • Everything they do is awesome!
When at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital a couple of weeks ago, I heard much about the ST. JUDE CHILD LIFE PROGRAM.

This group coordinated the ABCs of CANCER that we have been talking about and will for the rest of February.

Being diagnosed with a new illness and coming to the hospital can be stressful for a family.  The Child Life Program at St. Jude helps to reduce the stress and anxiety as much as possible.

Their goal is to help the children or teen cope with the challenges of health care and hospitalization.

Their impact was all over the hospital...evidence by the child who, when doing the letter C for the ABCs of CANCER, used the letters in C-H-I-L-D L-I-F-E, to describe what "C" means to them.

ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL has thought the whole person and how a diagnosis and subsequent treatment impacts the child, but also their siblings, parents and other family members.

Whether we are there to support family and friends with a sickness or disease....or just in life, let's all take the time to help them in ALL areas of their lives...because, we are BETTER TOGETHER!

Also, today is World Cancer Day.  Most of us, if not all of us, have been impacted by cancer in some way.

Take time today to remember those who have gone on and those who are still in the fight.
