MADE FOR A PURPOSE

Who saw CHARIOTS OF FIRE?  

What a GREAT movie.  

It came out in 1981 and tells the fact-based story of two athletes in the 1924 Paris Olympics, competing for Great Britain, Harold Abrahams and Eric Liddell. (Pick up this classic movie and watch it!)

The runner in today's picture....Eric Liddell.

Eric was the son of Scottish Missionaries who served in China.  Eric was born there in 1902.

In 1920, Eric enrolled in the University of Edinburgh to study Science....but athletics dominated his college life.

He was GIFTED to run. On one occasion, he missed out on a prayer meeting to compete in a race.  His sister, who was with him, scolded him and his athletic pursuits. 

Eric said to her, "I believe that God made me for a purpose.  But He also made me fast, and when I run, I feel His pleasure."

What are you GIFTED at?  What PURPOSE were you MADE for?  

For some it is athletics, but there is much more than just sport that we are PURPOSED for:

• Art
• Teaching
• Craftsmen/Artisans
• Cooking
• Singing
• Speaking
• Writing
• Parenting
• and so much more....

God MADE you for a PURPOSE.  And when you operate in that PURPOSE, you bring Him pleasure.

What is YOUR purpose?  I can't answer that for you...but when you "feel" His pleasure...you are in your PURPOSE.
