Bella - The Dog |
So today...just like ever other day...when I arrived home from work, I pushed the button on the garage door opener and pulled my car into the designated side of the garage where it goes.
Before I even shut the car off, the door leading into our house opens (thanks to the CHEERLEADER) and out bounds BELLA THE DOG to greet me.
Here's the perspective from inside the house (this is when I'm home and the CHEERLEADER is coming home from being out). The sound of the garage door opening causes BELLA THE DOG to make her way to the door that leads to the garage. It doesn't matter if she's in a deep sleep, eating her food, walking around or anything else she could be doing.....WHEN SHE HEARS THE SOUND OF THE DOOR LIFTING, SHE IS EXCITED FOR WHOEVER IT IS TO BE HOME!
Her greeting is as if we have been gone for years. She makes us feel like A MILLION BUCKS! Tail (or nub, in her case) wagging like no other. She leaps, spins, sneezes (not really sure why she sneezes..but she does) and is overall excited to see us.
A MILLION BUCKS.
The unconditional love that she demonstrates is incredible. She just wants to be with us...AT ALL TIMES...whether it's a W-A-L-K (we have to spell it, because she knows what the word means) or if we say, "Bella, do you want to go to the porch?" To which she responds with the same leaping, spinning, sneezing, etc.
The CHEERLEADER and I were discussing that as we sat on the porch (trying our best to get a good picture of BELLA THE DOG....I think this one turned out good!) tonight. The UNCONDITIONAL LOVE of our dog to us is a GREAT lesson to us and how to treat others.
Who do you demonstrate this type of love and care for? Who do you get excited to see or talk to? Who do you make feel like A MILLION BUCKS?
Take a lesson from BELLA THE DOG and go out and make someone's day; week; month; year; lifetime; by demonstrating a simple act of excitement to see and be with them.
THAT is what BEST YEAR YETs are made of!
