THE EXTRA MILE

"Go the extra mile.  It's never crowded." 

THE EXTRA MILE.

I was thinking about this in relation to my running.

The last thing I want to do at the end of a marathon is tack on another mile!

But the thought of going THE EXTRA MILE is one that can have an impact on our lives and on the lives of others.

There are many ways we can go THE EXTRA MILE every day.  

The important thing is to identify what is YOUR extra mile?

What can make your life, relationships, work or even running, better by doing a little extra?

Relating this to running, for me, doing that little extra means:

  • Stretching more before and after a run
  • Using my foam roller consistently
  • NOT skipping my cross training days
  • Incorporating more weight lifting and core workouts during training
  • Making sure I hydrate BEFORE I run
  • Respecting the rest days and letting my body recover
Doing these things helps me work on my weaknesses.  I consider them "EXTRA MILE" actions because I have to be disciplined to do them....they don't just happen by themselves!

What about you?  

You might look at my list and say, "yes, I'm a running too!"  Or, you look at my list and say, "what in the world is a foam roller?"

What are some "extras" you can do to increase your life, relationships, family, work or anything else?

How far would you go or what are you are willing to do to achieve BETTER in those areas?

Dedicate time to those things that are important to you. Discipline yourself and DON'T.GIVE.UP. on them!

Remember, there are no traffic jams on THE EXTRA MILE!
