SHARPENER

You have friends....good friends...and great friends.  Tonight, the Cheerleader and I had dinner with some GREAT friends.  We haven't seen them in a while, but they are the type of friends who would drop everything for you...and you would for them.  Over the years we have laughed together; cried together; traveled together; ate way too much together; we watched their kids be born and they have been a huge influence in our kids lives as well.

We talked about those kids, work, sports, life, purpose, Venmo, impact, books, etc.  It is in times like these, with friends like these, that you leave better then you were before you got together.

Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend." (NLT)  When you are together with your friends, are there "deposits" made into each other's lives or does it just seem like withdrawals?  Tonight, we did that.  We "sharpened" each other....made "deposits" into each other's lives that go to not only strengthen our relationship, but also how we will treat others that we meet along the way.

In our BEST YEAR YET journey, one thing to realize is that we are not to do this life alone.

WE.NEED.EACH.OTHER.

I say, often, "if we all don't row....the boat don't go!"  This could be used in a work setting; a team setting; in a family setting; but also with those you choose to do LIFE with!  Let's all grab our "oar," be intentional, with purpose, and get to rowing!

Now, go "SHARPEN" a friend!

  1. I honor all the deposits made in one another's lives and feel blessed to continue to sharpen and be sharpened by you and the Cheerleader. Great.Friends. Indeed.
