"Then God said to Noah, "Yes, this rainbow is the sign of the covenant I am confirming with all the creatures on earth." Genesis 9:17 [NLT]
THE PROMISE.
We had a wicked storm blow through this evening.
The CHEERLEADER and I were grabbing a bite to eat when it hit.
We watched out the window as the sky became dark and the rain came...the wind blew. I almost felt I was either living out Matthew 7 in the Bible or I was in some movie.
We hung around until the wind died down, then made a run for it. Really, the CHEERLEADER made a run for it and brought the car around. Hey, don't judge....it's FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND!
After we were home.....the sun came back out and with it, the RAINBOW.
RAINBOWS are so cool. I don't know how it all works, but every time I see one, I think about the verse above. I think about THE PROMISE of God.
Whether it's the promise of not flooding the earth or the promise of "...life and life more abundantly." John 10:10
2 Corinthians 1:20 says it this way, "For ALL of God's promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding YES!" And also, "....for He who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23
So, no matter what type of "storm" you are in today, or in the future, look to the God of the RAINBOW and remember this PROMISE He has given to you, "...I will not leave you nor forsake you." Joshua 1:5
