"The space between want to and done is your defining moment." |
DEFINING MOMENTS.
Every life is a series of defining moments.
Some MOMENTS are spectacular. Some MOMENTS are anything but spectacular.
Every one of them are unique (positive or negative), but these MOMENTS shape and impact our lives.
Think back to different periods of time in your life that got you to where you are at today.
For me....
- Recognizing my need of a Savior
- I had made a series of bad choices that left me directionless. Thank God for those that told me about the saving grace of Jesus.
- My CHEERLEADER said YES!
- Next to my accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior, marrying Chris has been THE.BEST.DECISION.OF.MY.LIFE
- Watching my 3 sons be born
- Talk about a "life game changer." Each one had a separate impact on me
- Raising those 3 sons
- Exiting the full time ministry
- One of the hardest decisions I have ever made
- Realizing I was not (at the time) supposed to be in the role I was in
- Being offered a job that helped my family out financially
- With this also came the confidence in my abilities that I had let become dormant due to the situations and circumstances that surrounded me
- Being told that I had been diagnosed with Cancer and going through treatment
- Since this is so fresh (just a year ago), this one is a work in progress but has been a huge DEFINING MOMENT for my life
- I'll hit on this one more in tomorrow's BEST YEAR YET post.
In my 51+ years, there are so many that I have left out that has had an impact on me...both good and bad. But through it all, I have learned (and still learning) to embrace each moment as the "building blocks" of my life.
So what will you choose to do with the MOMENTS that DEFINE you? Will you let them invite you to their "PITY PARTY" or will you look to overcome those that don't go your way....while also embracing all the positive MOMENTS as well?
My hope for you is that you take ALL of them, and look for ways to learn, grow and move on to that place of PASSION that you have in your BEST YEAR YET!
