I came across this graphic a couple months ago. It caught my attention.
The CHEERLEADER and I like to travel.
We've played the "Where do we want to go next?" game many times.
New foods.
New sights.
New places to explore.
I don't know all the places I will see, but they are ON MY LIST.
I have a list. Some would call it a "bucket list." I call it a LIVE LIST.
I know that it is probably semantics, but I want to focus on LIFE and LIVING not something to do before I die!
"Every man dies, but not every man truly lives." Sir William Wallace
What's on your LIST?
Do you have a LIST?
Here are a few questions to ask when creating your own LIVE LIST:
- What would you like to do or experience while you are still LIVING?
- What haven't you done yet that you want to do?
- Any countries or specific places you would like to travel to?
- Would you like to learn another language?
- What activity or skill would you like to learn?
There are so many questions that you can ask yourself to help develop your list.
I have heard it said, "You don't want to arrive at death's door safely. LIVE life by (your) design, not by default."
Take chances and truly LIVE as Wallace said. You'll be glad you did.
FINAL NOTE:
Here are a few items on my LIVE LIST:
- Travel the World and get my passport all "stamped" up
- I have a goal to run all 6 of the World Marathon Majors before I turn 60. I still have the 3 abroad (Tokyo; London; Berlin) to do
- I also want to see other parts of the world that aren't running related!
- Learn a language
- which leads to....
- Live in a foreign country
- Walk the Camino de Santiago
- My oldest sister did this and something about her journey inspired me to want to do the same
- Write a book
- Run the Boston Marathon
- This is one of the 6 World Marathon Majors, but felt, due to its historic nature that it deserved its own line
- Visit iconic college football stadiums
There's more, but you get the point.
Get inspired and write out your list. Drop me a line and let me know what you have on your LIVE LIST. I'll be your biggest CHEERLEADER/ENCOURAGER to see you get them done!
